More Info

Chris Tucker: Boisterous, fast-talking comedian Chris Tucker has become notorious for his catchphrases in movies like Friday and the Rush Hour movies. People might be surprised to find that Tucker began his career as a stand-up comedian, which eventually led to an illustrious acting career. In the absence of any new movies since Rush Hour 3 in 2007, Chris Tucker has returned to stand-up and can currently be found performing across the US.

After performing tirelessly in comedy clubs for a few years, Tucker began to gain popularity with side-splitting appearances on Def Comedy Jam in 1992. The success of these stand-up performances -- and a role in House Party 3 -- led to Tucker being cast in the role of the hyper-active stoner Smokey in the 1995 movie, Friday. The role was a breakout performance for Tucker, and led to a co-starring role in Money Talks and small role as Ruby Rhod in The Fifth Element. He is probably best remembered for his role as a comic foil to Jackie Chan in the Rush Hour movies, the third of which marks Tucker's last film appearance.

Chris Tucker is now taking his comedy off of the big screen and on to the stage with his unique brand of live comedy. Stay tuned to Eventful for the latest updates on his new tours.

D.L. Hughley: Darryl Lynn “D.L.” Hughley is an actor, political commentator and stand-up comedian whose career has spanned over two decades. From humble beginnings in South Central Los Angeles, to a successful TV and movie career, to being interviewed as a key voice on race and politics for news network MSNBC. This man does it all.

Hughley grew up in L.A.'s South Central where he was a member of the Bloods after getting kicked out of high school. However, he turned his life around after the death of his cousin, who was shot in a gang-related disagreement. He quit the gang and got a job as a telemarketer for the Los Angeles Times, soon moving up into management where he met his wife-to-be, Ladonna. It was her influence that convinced him to try his humor on stage. After years of club dates, he was selected by BET as the first host of ComicView, gaining him industry-wide recognition. In 1998, he landed his own sitcom, The Hughleys,/i>, which featured his own screenwriting, directing, and acting skills. During these years, he was also featured in Spike Lee’s 2000 film The Original Kings of Comedy, which documented four comedians on the Kings of Comedy tour.

He continues to entertain audiences with touring standup routines at Caroline’s on Broadway in NYC and The DC Improv Comedy Club, to name a few. Want D.L. Hughley to visit your city? Make sure to demand him and let him know where to tour next!
