More Info

The Raymond James Stadium Tampa, also known as The Ray Jay, opened its doors on September 20, 1998 with an inaugural NFL game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears. The venue boasts a capacity of 75,000, two 24x92 BucVision video screens, rotating trilon billboards and, most notably, a 43 ton and 103-foot long replica pirate ship. Since opening, it has been hailed as the “crown jewel” of the NFL-- both by Raymond James Stadium management themselves, as well as members of the NFL Players Association.

The Tampa stadium's current tenants include the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NCAA’s USF Bulls. In addition to the various games played by those tenants, the Raymond James Stadium schedule annually hosts distinguished sports events like the New Year’s Day NCAA Outback Bowl, the AGA/Budweiser American Invitational and Monster Jam. The Raymond James Stadium has also had the honor of hosting Super Bowl XXXV and XLIII, gaining both national and international acclaim for the impressive Tampa venue.

Although it specializes in sports games, the Raymond James Stadium schedule hosts a variety of special events each year. Past examples of these include a massive concert by U2, as part of their 360 Tour.
